We all know someone who would benefit from starting therapy…

I have parents and partners contact me on a weekly basis, trying to book a session for their loved one.

I completely understand how difficult it can be to watch someone suffer and not seek help, but therapy is only effective if the client actually wants to be there.

So, why not focus your energy on booking a session for yourself? A partner who sees their loved one benefiting from therapy might be more convinced to try it themselves. Likewise, as a parent, you might gain a deeper understanding of how to respond when your child is in distress. If you still want to give a gentle nudge, then at most, recommend Counselling Directory or Psychology Today for your loved one to choose their own therapist.
